SMART HOME INSTALLATION SERVICE AGREEMENT

 

This Service Agreement (the “Agreement”) is made between the customer (the “Client”) and Safe Smart Homes UK (“the Provider”) for the professional installation of smart home security devices. By scheduling an installation appointment, the Client agrees to the terms outlined below.


1. Scope of Service

 

The Provider agrees to professionally install smart security devices at the Client’s property, ensuring full functionality, integration, and guidance on use. The service includes:

  • Physical Installation & App Setup – Securely mounting devices and configuring their applications.

  • Integration & Testing – Connecting devices to existing systems and testing functionality.

  • Personalized Walk-Through – Demonstrating features and answering Client questions.


2. Customer Responsibilities

 

Product Availability & Readiness:

  • If the Client has purchased the equipment independently, they must ensure all necessary components are available at the time of installation and that any required backup batteries are fully charged.

  • If the Provider has supplied the equipment, the Client does not need to worry about product availability or charging requirements.

Wi-Fi & Connectivity:

  • Wi-Fi must be operational, with a strong signal at the installation site.

  • Minimum internet speed of 4 Mbps download / 0.5 Mbps upload is required.

  • The Wi-Fi password must be available for setup.

Additional Accessories & Equipment:

  • The Client must notify the Provider at least 48 hours before installation of any additional accessories they wish to have installed.

  • Additional accessories may result in extra charges and may require a separate appointment.

Compliance with Laws & Permissions:

  • The Client is responsible for ensuring that the installation and use of security devices comply with applicable privacy laws, especially regarding video and audio recording.

  • If the installation is at a rental or shared property, the Client confirms they have the necessary permissions from landlords, property managers, or cohabitants.

  • The Client must ensure that the installation does not interfere with existing security systems or infrastructure.


3. Payment Terms & Deposit

 

  • A £50 deposit is required to secure the installation booking.

  • The remaining balance must be paid in full upon completion of the installation.

  • The deposit is non-refundable if the Client cancels or reschedules within 24 hours of the appointment.


4. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

 

  • The Client may reschedule or cancel the appointment at least 24 hours in advance without penalty.

  • Cancellations or reschedules made within 24 hours of the appointment may result in a £45 fee.


5. Liability & Warranty Disclaimer

 

  • The Provider is responsible for the professional installation of smart home devices but is not liable for manufacturer defects, software issues, or any network-related connectivity problems beyond the Provider’s control.

  • The Client is responsible for ongoing maintenance, including battery replacements, software updates, and Wi-Fi reliability.


6. Warranty on Installation Work

 

  • The Provider offers a 90-day installation warranty. If any issues arise due to the installation work within this period, the Provider will fix them free of charge.

  • This warranty does not cover damage caused by the Client, tampering, accidental damage, or network connectivity issues.


7. Permission for Marketing Use

 

  • The Client grants permission for Safe Smart Homes UK to use photos and/or videos taken during installation for marketing and promotional purposes, including social media posts.

  • These may include images of installed equipment and general shots of the installation area, but will not include identifiable features (e.g. house numbers, faces) without additional consent.

  • If the Client does not consent to this, they must notify the Provider in writing before the installation begins.


8. Health & Safety Notice

 

  • The Client is responsible for ensuring the work area is safe and accessible for installation.

  • This includes clearing the area of obstructions and informing the Provider of any known hazards (e.g. asbestos, unstable structures, aggressive pets).


9. Access to Property

 

  • The Client must ensure that an authorised adult (18+) is present at the time of installation to grant access and remain on-site throughout the service.

  • If access is not available at the agreed time, this may result in cancellation and forfeiture of the deposit.


10. Data Protection

 

  • Any personal data provided to Safe Smart Homes UK will be processed in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

  • The Provider will not share customer data with third parties without consent, except where required by law or as necessary to fulfil the service.

11. Delays & Force Majeure

 

  • The Provider is not liable for delays caused by factors beyond its control, including extreme weather, transport issues, illness, or global supply chainptions.

  • In such cases, a new installation date will be agreed upon without penalty to either party.


12. Product Responsibility Disclaimer

 

  • The Provider assumes no responsibility for issues arising from devices not supplied by Safe Smart Homes UK, including but not limited to: missing parts, faulty equipment, incompatibility, or damage caused during shipping.

  • The Client is responsible for ensuring all customer-purchased products are present and in working order prior to the appointment.
